LMI Helps State Leaders Teach Disaster Recovery Staffing

Tysons, Va., August 21, 2015 — Experts from LMI’s Supply Chain Management group joined forces with leaders of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Schuylkill Conservation District and the Upper Swatara Watershed to present a seminar to the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).

Members of the association learned the basics of disaster recovery staffing from planning activities and human resources staffing to lessons learned and case studies. The webinar, “Long-Term Disaster Recovery: Getting the Team You Need to Succeed,” was presented in part by Jen Shafer and Matt Peterson of LMI and detailed how local disaster recovery efforts can be effective with the appropriate planning and support.

ICMA’s mission is to create excellence in local governance by developing and fostering professional management. The webinar builds on the LMI Research Institute-funded Disaster Recovery Staffing Framework.
