LMI’s Board Chairman Receives Greater Washington Innovation Awards Lifetime Honor

Tysons, VA, May 11, 2017 — The Greater Washington Innovation Awards, in partnership with the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce, awarded Mike Daniels, board chairman at LMI, with the 2017 Lifetime Innovator Award at the Hamilton Live in Washington, DC, on Thursday, April 27, 2017. The award honors thought leadership, innovation, and creativity in the Greater Washington metro area.

“Mike Daniels has done what few in technology ever have. He’s repeatedly combined game-changing ideas with an unmatched passion for taking care of people to achieve the very highest levels of success and respect,” said LMI CEO and President Nelson Ford.

The Lifetime Innovator Award honors local individuals for outstanding contributions to the region withabove-and-beyond leadership in the business community,” according to the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce. “This individual has been a longtime advocate for challenging the status quo and has a longstanding reputation for encouraging disruptive innovation in his or her company and beyond.”

“I’m very humbled by this award. There are lots of deserving people in the greater Washington region,” Daniels said as he accepted the award. After reflecting on his career, he offered advice to the audience: “You need to be involved in [the Northern Virginia Chamber]. You need to network with people, and you need to get involved with the community. You can sum up my years with three points: you need to work hard, and you need to work hard, and you need to work hard.”

The awards were presented across eight categories, each concentrating on a different accomplishment or innovation, and reviewed by an independent selection committee. Select nominees then presented their innovations in front of a group of judges before finalists for each category were chosen.
