Economic Responsibility

Success on the right terms.

LMI’s economic viability is critical to sustaining our mission of improving government management, and our economic success directly reflects the value we bring our clients. As we grow our business, we have taken decisive measures to ensure we do so in an ethical way that protects what we value as a company and that nurtures our treasured employees along the way.

Small wonder that we have won numerous awards for being a best employer, from publications, including Washingtonian, Military Times EDGE, and a “Greater Washington area’s Best Places to Work” award from the Washington Business Journal. more »

Not-for-profit mission

As a not-for-profit organization, LMI strives to maintain our independence and objectivity in all of the services we perform for our public sector clients. Our service-oriented mission frees us from the conflicts that can arise for companies that must meet shareholder objectives. It means our sole job is to find solutions that will have the most positive impact on our clients, free from any commercial or political bias. more »

Code of Ethics and Standards

LMI’s reputation for integrity is one of our most prized assets, and we work hard to protect it. LMI has adopted and incorporated a Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct that guide all of our business activities. Our policies on business integrity, statements and certifications, social policies, contract performance, mechanisms for reporting potential violations, and compliance and discipline standards explicitly govern all of our direct and indirect business dealings with the government clients, as well as with other organizations. We expect all of our employees to know and follow these standards.

Avoidance of Organizational Conflicts of Interest

LMI assesses potential organizational conflicts of interest for all proposed work that could bias our judgment in the performance of other work. We also employ procedures to ensure that our independent contractors and subcontractors are free from organizational conflicts of interest. If an organizational conflict of interest, or the perception of such a conflict, exists, we mitigate the conflict or avoid the contractual relationship altogether. When implementing our policies, we comply with the rules and procedures of Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 9.5, Organizational and Consultant Conflicts of Interest.

Commitment to Quality

LMI holds itself accountable to quality standards established through our quality management system, which fully complies with ISO 9001:2008 standards. more »

Small Business Partnerships

LMI takes great pride in our partnerships with small businesses, which, in turn, have special capabilities that help us achieve the best results. LMI also serves as a mentor to small business partners through formal mentor-protégé programs. These activities, established and monitored by various federal agencies, include offering training classes, business development team support, and proposal expertise. We’re proud of the successes of our protégés: for example, Integrity Management Consulting, Inc., recently ranked second overall in the Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s “Fantastic 50” list of the fastest growing companies in the state of Virginia.

Recognizing our continued dedication to and mentoring of small businesses, the Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum (SECAF) honored LMI as the 2010 “Small Business Partner of the Year.” more »

Equal Employment Opportunity/Non-discrimination

LMI conforms with all applicable laws and regulations with regard to affording equal employment opportunity to qualified individuals, regardless of their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other factors protected by applicable law. Its policy of equal employment opportunity pertains to all aspects of the employment relationship, including recruitment and hiring, promotion, assignment, and termination, selection for training opportunities, and compensation and employee benefits. LMI is committed to providing a workplace free of unlawful discrimination including illegal harassment.

But beyond the letter of the laws, we honor their spirit. LMI recognizes that our continued success depends on developing and utilizing the full range of human resources. To that end we have committed to promoting diversity in the workplace through various initiatives and have implemented an affirmative action program to increase minority, female, disabled, and covered Veteran representation.

Career Development/Training and Mentoring

LMI nurtures our employees, both personally and professionally. We provide a broad range of technical, management, and individual skills workshops, seminars, conferences, and classes, both on- and off-site, to help our employees reach their full potential. We also offer generous tuition reimbursement, which ensures our employees grow personally and professionally.

We provide mentorship through avenues both formal and informal. This includes our intern and co-op program for current students through select universities, which gives college students the chance to explore future career opportunities while they pursue their education. Mentorship is also an important element of our Public Policy Fellows Program for new graduates from targeted public policy graduate programs across the United States. more »
