Work-Life Programs

We know there’s far more to you than the work you do for us.

What makes LMI such a great place to work? It’s more than the great benefits and competitive pay. It’s more than the personal satisfaction so many of our employees find in working in our not-for-profit environment to improve the business of government management. It’s even more than our congenial and collaborative corporate culture.

It’s also about how LMI respects and values each employee as an individual, with a whole life to balance outside of the office. We want to nourish our employees’ whole selves, and to that end, we offer a broad array of work-life programs that rank among the best in the area.

First-Class Facilities

LMI’s headquarters near Tysons Corner, VA, is just over 10 miles to downtown Washington, DC, in a convenient location immediately accessible to the Capital Beltway. Dress is generally business casual, and the workplace atmosphere—regardless of dress—is friendly and comfortable.

We offer a low-density office arrangement conducive to creative focus and productivity. In addition to attractive office space, there is an on-site cafeteria and a number of other amenities, including free parking at the Tysons, VA, headquarters. There is a state-of-the-art, on-site exercise facility for employees. Recently renovated, it includes aerobic and strength-training equipment, free weights, and locker rooms.

LMI also conducts business in a number of satellite offices around the country, including several in Maryland and Virginia, as well as Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

Pentagon Federal Credit Union

LMI employees have access to a variety of money-saving services through the Pentagon Federal Credit Union.

Social Programs

Our social programs include an annual family picnic in the summer, a holiday party during the winter season, and a number of employer- and employee-sponsored events and activities, including a golf league, softball team, bike-riding club, ski club, and 3-mile walk/run in the spring and autumn of each year.

Recognition Awards

LMI’s recognition programs consist of monetary and nonmonetary awards intended to reward an individual’s contributions to LMI’s overall success.

Community Connections

LMI supports our employees’ participation in volunteer activities that contribute to the local community, region, and nation. These programs include Rebuilding Together, America Recycles Day, Children’s National Medical Center, Project Hope, and the American Red Cross. In many cases, LMI matches employee contributions in a shared spirit of helping others in need and making our communities more livable. Family Matters @LMI Program

This program allows eligible employees to suspend full-time work for up to 1 year for child rearing, for elder care, or to care for immediate family members that are ill. When ready to return to work, a participating employee will be reinstated to his or her job or a similar position, subject to business conditions. Employees must apply for approval to participate in the program.

Employee Assistance Program

We offer a confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through a specialty provider for help with personal, professional, financial, and legal concerns that may affect employees’ well-being as well as their job performance. The cost of the EAP is fully borne by LMI.

Annual Health Fair and Flu Shots

Each year LMI sponsors a health fair at its headquarters. This event offers an array of preventive screenings, educational health information, healthy cooking demonstrations, and other valuable resources. We also offer free flu shots for employees and their family members each year.
