PNG

PNG is designed to formulate inventory strategies for items with highly variable demand.  Because forecasting is typically very ineffective for this population of items, often producing forecasting errors of 200% or more, PNG focuses on generating hedging strategies instead of attempting to forecast demand.  It balances the various dimensions of inventory performance such as investment, customer service, and procurement workload.  Users pick from a wide range of alternative strategies to craft a solution that is tailored to their organization’s specific priorities and objectives. ASM® Sparing Model

This analytic model helps managers determine the specific requirements for the myriad spare parts of a system by balancing each part’s cost with its explicit contribution to overall performance. To do this, the ASM® sparing model employs advanced business analytics to rank spare parts purchases in the order of their benefit-to-cost ratios. It then incrementally adds spares to the sparing solution until a target budget or desired system availability is reached. It has helped reduce inventory costs by 20 percent while maintaining readiness levels. Learn more »

Logistics Data

Sound analysis begins with good data. We have deep functional expertise with the logistics data of the military services and Defense Logistics Agency, as well as the capability to store and process extremely large historical data files. For one customer, we compiled 6 years of detailed customer order and fulfillment data, comprising more than 60 million records.

Financial and Inventory Simulator

This multi-echelon simulation applies empirical or theoretical demand distributions to model the financial, workload, and fulfillment effects of alternative inventory policies. Analysis using this tool led the Military Operations Research Society to award LMI the prestigious Barchi Prize.

I-PASS™

I-PASS™ is an integrated model used to benchmark the performance of a supply chain, identify strengths and weaknesses, assess options for improvement, and create a plan of action for improving performance.

Prime-Choice™ Decision Support Method

This six-step process combines state-of-the-art financial and risk assessment tools to help decision-makers select the best among a set of competing alternatives. The method is particularly useful when the decision is critical and qualitative factors obscure the best choices.

Force Deployment and Sustainment Modeling

We maintain and use all approved DoD force deployment and sustainment models such as Joint Analysis System, the Joint Flow and Analysis System for Transportation, Model for Intertheater Deployment by Air and Sea, Enhanced Logistics Intratheater Support Tool, Integrated Computerized Deployment System, and Automated Air Load Planning System. We use detailed modeling to support our studies and analyses by building all the input files required for these models, including the time-phased force deployment data (TPFDD) that accurately reflect the combatant command concept of operations and desired force flow. We have developed unique models as well, including the Joint Over the Shore Estimator (JOTE), Enablers Effects Model (EEM), and a casualty estimation tool called System to Automate the Benchmark Rate Structure (SABERS).

State-of-the-Art Surveying

Using the latest data collection technology and methods, our proven approach integrates statistical sample design and sound data analysis to produce clear, thorough, and practical reports for management action. The associated web survey tracking tool offers unique flexibility, permitting easily customized and quickly deployable survey instruments.

Weapon System Sustainment Value Stream Model

Weapon System Sustainment Value Stream Model is a DoD-owned prototype tool that integrates “best of the breed” software simulation modules, which allow sustainment professionals to zero-in on availability degraders throughout the weapon system sustainment value stream and predict the effect of changes within the value stream on weapon system availability. It also identifies high leverage items in a weapon system that offer the greatest return on investment for reliability improvement and continuous process improvement of depot repair operations.
