NEWSKaren LeDoux Selected for Promotion to Brigadier General Will be reassigned as the Commander, 103rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary).
MCLEAN, Va., March 22, 2007—Karen LeDoux has been nominated by President George W. Bush for promotion to brigadier general in the Army Reserve. The nomination was forwarded to the Senate for confirmation in mid-March. Ms. LeDoux has 24 years of service in the Army, 10 active duty and 14 Reserve. She currently serves as the commander of the 55th Sustainment Brigade at Fort Belvoir, a new modular formation that merges the functions of the former division support command and certain corps support command functions.
On April 1, she will be reassigned as the Commander, 103rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) (ESC), in Des Moines, Iowa. The ESC serves as the forward presence or deployable command post for a theater command (sustainment): it provides command and control of all assigned units and renders logistics planning, policies, guidance, and support in coordination with the command’s distribution management center. The 103rd will command and control all combat service support units in a 10-state area.
Ms. LeDoux, who joined LMI’s Operational Logistics group in January 2007, supports the Office of the Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Program Support). In that assignment, she helps develop Department of Defense policies and processes to gain accountability and visibility of contractors accompanying U.S. forces in contingency operations, helps develop visibility of all contingency contracts and their capabilities, and integrates planners to identify contracting requirements and write them into operations plans and operations plans in concept format.
