Maurice A. Kelly Appointed to Board of Directors of Norfolk State University Enterprise and Empowerment Foundation

MCLEAN, Va., August 30, 2007—Maurice Kelly, Director of the LMI Research Institute, has been appointed to the Norfolk State University Enterprise and Empowerment Foundation (E²F) Board of Directors. Founded in 2001, E²F provides brands and services that promote applied research and technological innovations that, in turn, contribute to the economic strength of the Hampton Roads region and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Among the many E²F brand components is the Marie V. McDemmond Center for Applied Research, a home to advance research in computational science, engineering, and materials science and the future home of Norfolk State University’s advanced research in information assurance and its enterprise and skills development initiatives.

Mr. Kelly joined LMI in 1999 as an intern from the Virginia High-Tech Partnership and worked as a systems analyst and project manager for the Corporate Information Systems group. As Director of the LMI Research Institute, established in 2004, he coordinates the work of a staff of accomplished researchers from diverse analytical and technical backgrounds, who are dedicated to advancing the science of government management. The LMI Research Institute strives to add rigor, precision, and greater predictability to all aspects of government decision making.

Mr. Kelly is a reserve Navy intelligence officer and has a BS in information systems management from Norfolk State University and an MS in management information systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

LMI is a not-for-profit government consulting firm established in 1961 at the behest of Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara. Best known for its logistics expertise, LMI’s work now includes acquisition, facilities management, financial management, information technology, and organizations and human capital.
