LMI and Hinchcliffe & Company Launch Gov 2.0 University

McLean, VA, September 25, 2009—Gov 2.0 University (G2U), a joint venture of LMI and Hinchcliffe & Company, provides federal, state, local, and tribal employees with a comprehensive set of tools and strategies to leverage Web 2.0 capabilities to improve various aspects of government performance and management.

G2U's courses explore how the federal sector can leverage Web 2.0 technologies and the culture changes they engender to support and enhance the achievement of organizational objectives. To this end, G2U offers four course types, each of which may be attended in an open session or tailored to the individual needs of specific organizations:

• Executive primer. G2U comes to top agency executives and provides a tailored briefing of the functions, benefits, and challenges of employing collaborative technologies, to examine how Gov 2.0 helps accomplish broad agency goals.
• Manager's course. This two-day course focuses on the human and process facets of Government 2.0 and collaboratively managing groups to achieve organizational objectives.
• User training. This five-day course helps students build proficiency in applying various tools to find practical solutions to the most common problems in daily government work.
• Customized courses. These courses, of varying lengths, are designed to address the specific needs and culture of an organization. Customized classes can also assume the form of workshops designed to solve unique problems quickly in a collaborative setting using Government 2.0 tools and processes.
