CORPORATE CULTURE

When you walk in the door, you sense the difference.

LMI employees love the work they do and the people with whom they work. Our culture is stimulating and challenging—as well as friendly and collegial—a comfortable venue for creative thinking, problem-solving, learning, and professional growth. Here’s how we do it.

We stress service to our clients, not revenue growth. As a not-for-profit business, we take pride in always working in the client’s best interest. We strive to work only on programs of demonstrable value to the public sector, encompassing the many facets of federal government management. The result is that our work is both challenging and rewarding.

We strongly emphasize and support the professional and personal development of our employees. Through a broad array of technical, management, and individual skills workshops, seminars, conferences, and classes, both on- and off-site, we help our employees reach their full potential. Many have obtained a second or third academic degree by taking advantage of LMI's generous tuition reimbursement program.

Dress is generally business casual, unless client meetings call for more traditional business attire. The workplace atmosphere—regardless of dress—is friendly and comfortable. Most staff members have private offices, a low-density office arrangement conducive to creative focus and productivity.

Our management style is “open door” and our structure is more flat than hierarchical. Staff members have walk-in access to officers and managers.

Our management pays attention to work-life issues. We respect our employees' life outside the office and understand the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between personal lives and LMI work. Our annual health fair promotes healthy lifestyles to our employees by offering access to critical health screenings; providing information about prevention, promotion, and treatment of numerous health related issues; leading educational activities; and serving healthy food.

We are active in our community through direct volunteer work and fundraising for a number of important causes. LMI's corporate donation program supports charities in which employees are involved. Among other things, each year we host a luncheon during the holiday season for the benefit of Children’s Hospital, and we participate in the American Heart Association Heart Walk. We are environmentally conscientious, maintaining a broad-based recycling program and holding special activities on Earth Day.

It's no surprise that LMI was chosen for the second consecutive time as one of Washingtonian magazine's 2007 Great Places to Work in Washington. Any LMI employee will tell you, "LMI is a great place to work!"
