RETIREMENTLMI knows that our employees are concerned about responsible planning for retirement, and we have designed a retirement program to support their needs. Our retirement program, through Principal Financial Group, is among the best in the industry and in the entire Washington metropolitan region. There are two components to our retirement program. Starting from their date of hire, employees can contribute a portion of their salary on a tax-deferred basis to a 403(b) plan. In addition, salaried employees are eligible for our 401(a) retirement plan, under which LMI contributes 9 percent of an eligible employee's base salary and matches up to an additional 3 percent on the basis of the employee's elective contribution. Employees are eligible for the employer's 401(a) plan contributions after 1 year of employment. Contributions are 100 percent vested immediately.
