newsThe Honorable Jennifer B. Dunn joins LMI Board of Trustees Adds valuable government experience to the Board
McLean, Virginia, October 29, 2005 — The Executive Committee of the LMI Board of Trustees elected the Honorable Jennifer B. Dunn to become a member at their October 6, 2005 meeting. In January 2005, Ms. Dunn retired from the U.S. House of Representatives, where she represented the suburbs of Seattle, Washington. She is currently Senior Policy Advisor in the Government Affairs practice group of the international law firm of DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary. She is based in Washington, D.C.
During her congressional service, she served in leadership as vice chair of the House Republican Conference, making her the highest ranking woman in the U.S. House of Representatives. She served on the House Ways and Means Committee and the Joint Economic Committee. Ms. Dunn was also appointed vice chair of the newly-created Select Committee on Homeland Security. She was the first woman to win the Tax Foundation’s annual distinguished service award and is widely regarded as an expert on tax relief, expansion of free and fair international trade, welfare reforms, IRS reform, overhaul of the tax code, high technology policy, and retirement security. She currently serves on the President’s ACTPN Committee (Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations) and the HELP Commission (Helping to Enhance The Livelihood of People Around The Globe) and several boards.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from Stanford University and an honorary Masters of Humane Letters from Central Washington University.
