McLean, Virginia, February 6, 2006—The Defense Security Service performed the annual National Industrial Security Program assessment of LMI’s industrial security program in December 2005. These annual reviews ensure the adequacy of safeguards LMI uses to protect classified material. The assessment included a review of LMI’s accredited computer systems.
The assessment team found the elements reviewed to be operating in accordance with or exceeding National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) requirements, with no significant security violations or vulnerabilities. As a result, LMI received a superior rating. In issuing this rating, the Defense Security Service commended the LMI security staff for its professionalism and knowledge. LMI CEO Donald L. Pilling said, “having a sound security operation is critical to LMI because of the nature of our clients and the work we do.”
