newsEllen Angus Receives Robert Newton Achievement Award Highest honor awarded by the National Association of Grants Management.
McLean, Virginia, April 24, 2006—Ellen Angus will receive the Robert Newton Achievement Award from the National Grants Management Association on April 26, 2006, at the Annual Grants Management Training Conference in Washington, D.C. The Newton Award recognizes individuals for exceptional and sustained contributions leading to lasting improvements in the practice and understanding of grants management. During her 35-year career, Ms. Angus has contributed to the area of financial assistance policy and management in a variety of ways, including developing policy and procedure manuals for federal employees, guidance documents for grantees, and management review protocols for federal agency staff.
Ms. Angus joined LMI in 1996 and is currently a program manager in the Resources and Acquisition Group. At LMI, she has worked on tasks for the Department of Defense and civil agencies to improve their management of grants, cooperative agreements, and other types of financial assistance. Prior to LMI, she was Director, Office of Acquisition and Grants, Health Care Financing Agency, Department of Health and Human Services. LMI is a not-for-profit government consulting firm established in 1961 at the behest of Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara. Best known for its logistics expertise, LMI’s work now includes acquisition, facilities management, financial management, information technology, and organizations and human capital. Numbered among its clients are Department of Defense organizations and civil agencies, such as the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Postal Service. |
