NEWSPatrick Wakefield Appointed Senior Fellow at LMI Will focus on DoD’s Logistics Road Map
McLean, Virginia, July 11, 2006—Adm. Donald L. Pilling, CEO of LMI, announced the appointment of Patrick J. Wakefield as Senior Fellow. Mr. Wakefield joined LMI’s Operational Logistics group in 2006 to provide expertise on cost analysis issues related to DoD’s Continuous Process Improvement program. As a Senior Fellow, he will focus on the DoD Logistics Road Map, in particular on developing a strategy for linking logistics resources to capabilities for the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Logistics and Materiel Readiness.
Before joining LMI, Mr. Wakefield was a member of the Senior Executive Service and served as the Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of Defense (Chemical Demilitarization and Threat Reduction). He participated in the U.S. Chemical Demilitarization and Cooperative Threat Reduction programs, international treaties, financial management, and logistics management from concept design through implementation and operations. Mr. Wakefield is certified as an acquisition professional and government financial manager.

These Senior Fellows are resources available to the staff to help validate an approach or focus an argument, among other invaluable assistance. They also have backgrounds in particular organizations or communities and a senior-level perspective on the functions and processes of certain segments of government.
