NEWSLMI Conducts Business Continuity Test LMI to hold business continuity test on August 9, 2006
McLean, Virginia, July 28, 2006—LMI appreciates the potential catastrophic social, health, and economic implications of an influenza pandemic. We are dedicated to ensuring the health, safety, and well being of our employees. Similarly, we recognize our mission responsibilities to our clients and the necessity of providing the highest quality support possible to the federal government during the crisis.
Considerable federal, state, and local planning for a pandemic flu outbreak has taken place, with more yet to be done. Clearly, such an event will bring a number of difficult changes to our accustomed lifestyles in terms of quarantines; school, public facility, and government/business closings; limited basic services; rationing of health care; and potentially restricted individual freedoms.
To this end we have developed a business continuity plan for continuing LMI operations, including the occurrence of a sustained event such as a pandemic. On Wednesday, August 9th, LMI will conduct a day-long test of the plan. Our central headquarters and satellite offices will be closed to all but minimal essential staff. All other LMI employees not physically located in client organizations will telecommute on that day. All personnel will remain readily available to support client requirements with no disruption to the quality and timeliness of support provided. At the conclusion of the test we will conduct an assessment of our efforts and be in a position to share our experience with our clients.
We would like to take this opportunity in advance to thank our clients for their cooperation with this undertaking. |
