NEWSMatthew G. “Matt” Henry Promoted to Program Director Will lead the Resources and Acquisition group at LMI.
McLean, Virginia, September 5, 2006—Adm. Donald L. Pilling, CEO of LMI, announced the promotion of Matthew G. “Matt” Henry to Program Director for the Resources and Acquisition group. Mr. Henry joined LMI in February 2006 as a Senior Fellow. In his new position, he will concentrate on helping government managers with acquisition policy, grants policy, and allocation of limited agency resources to meet goals.
Mr. Henry, who came to LMI from Apogen Technologies, is a former Department of the Navy Senior Executive Service member. At Apogen, he was vice president of the Defense Systems Group, which supported the development and sustainment of the Navy’s manpower and personnel information systems. Before that, he was the Assistant Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (Manpower and Personnel), following an extended assignment in the assessment division (N81) on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations, in which he focused on the Planning, Programming, and Budgeting System.
Mr. Henry has bachelor’s degrees in physics from the University of the South (Sewanee) and in engineering from Columbia University. He also has a master’s degree in systems management from the University of Southern California. LMI is a not-for-profit government consulting firm established in 1961 at the behest of Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara. Best known for its logistics expertise, LMI’s work now includes acquisition, facilities management, financial management, information technology, and organizations and human capital. Numbered among its clients are Department of Defense organizations and civil agencies, such as the General Services Administration and Departments of Homeland Security and Energy.
