LMI Receives a Rating of “Superior” for Security Inspection

LMI’s security team praised for professionalism and knowledge.

MCLEAN, Va., December 7, 2006—The Defense Security Service(DSS) performed its annual National Industrial Security Program assessment of LMI’s industrial security program in October 2006. For the second consecutive year, the security program was rated as operating at a superior level. These annual reviews ensure the adequacy of the safeguards LMI uses to protect classified material and include a review of LMI’s accredited computer systems.

The DSS inspectors praised the members of the LMI security team for their professionalism and knowledge of their particular functions. Rick Esslinger, Director of Security for LMI, received a separate letter of acknowledgment for his dedication to national security and support of the National Industrial Security Program. Other members of the security team include Grady McGuire, Assistant Facility Officer; Paul Jung, Information Security Office Manager; and Ernesto Febus, Information Systems Security Manager, Substation Manager.

LMI is a not-for-profit government consulting firm established in 1961 at the behest of Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara. Best known for its logistics expertise, LMI’s work now includes acquisition, facilities management, financial management, information technology, and organizations and human capital. Numbered among its clients are Department of Defense organizations and civil agencies, such as the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Postal Service.
