ArchivesLMI and Employees Donate More Than $8,000 to American Heart Association Employees and their families participate in annual Heart Walk in DC
McLean, Virginia, November 16, 2004—LMI, a private, not-for-profit corporation dedicated to improving public-sector management, today announced that, along with its employees, the company has donated $8,698 to the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association held its annual Heart Walk on Saturday, October 16, 2004, in Washington, DC. Teams comprised of LMI employees, family members, and friends turned in $8,698 in donations. The total includes a contribution of $2,500 from LMI for meeting the participant goal of 50 walkers.
As team captains, Erica Ambrogio, Valinda Blackburn, Heather Kennedy, Roger Miller, and Bob Vuori signed up walkers and encouraged everyone to raise money or make a donation if they were unable to participated. Their efforts were supported by everyone who opened their wallets and made financial contributions to help lower the incidence of heart disease and stroke. Whether donating online or in person, or buying a paper heart in the building's cafeteria, the LMI community displayed strong support for the efforts of the walkers.
