January 14, 2010 "Not-for-Profit to Help Develop Guidelines on Measuring Greenhouse Gases" On January 14, 2010, Federal Times.com reported on the role LMI's Energy and Environment group will play in supporting the Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory as it implements President Obama's Executive Order 13514, which calls for all federal agencies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The article quotes LMI's Rob Hardison, "These initial efforts will likely set many precedents, should Congress subsequently create a national program. However, federal agencies' limited experience in this area means few are ready to reduce emissions as required."
January 14, 2010 The Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) has awarded LMI a contract to support its Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) in implementation of Executive Order 13514. This order requires federal agencies to set greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets and increase energy efficiency, among other goals.
