LTG Robert T. Dail (Retired)LTG Robert T. Dail, USA (Retired) Joins LMI Board

 

McLean, VA., January 21, 2009—Lieutenant General Robert T. Dail, who recently retired from the U.S. Army, has been elected to LMI’s Board of Trustees. His advice and counsel will be instrumental in helping LMI continue to be recognized as a leading not-for-profit strategic consultancy supporting the federal government.


At the time of his retirement, LTG DaiI was the Director, Defense Logistics Agency, which is headquartered at Fort Belvoir, VA. In that capacity, he was responsible for the approximately 21,000 civilian and military personnel providing the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and various federal agencies with a variety of logistics, acquisition, and technical services.


Prior to coming to DLA, LTG Dail served as the Deputy Commander, U.S. Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, IL. USTRANSCOM is a Unified Command responsible to the Secretary of Defense for the Nation's defense transportation systems. LTG Dail’s previous general officer assignments were Commanding General, U.S. Army Transportation Center, Fort Eustis, VA; Commanding General, 3rd Corps Support Command, Wiesbaden, Germany; and Director for Logistics-J4, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Norfolk, VA. He also has commanded and led logistics and transportation units at every level, from platoon to corps, across the full range of Army combat capabilities.


LTG Dail has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Richmond and graduate degrees from Boston University, National Defense University, and U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
