Eric Herzberg Contributes to Corrosion Control in the Aerospace Industry

McLean, VA., February 24, 2009—Eric Herzberg, a member of our Maintenance and Readiness Management Group, contributed a chapter to Corrosion Control in the Aerospace Industry, a recently published book edited by S. Benavides.

Eric's chapter, "Addressing the Cost of Corrosion in the Aerospace Industry," is based on the results of extensive analysis that he and his team of researchers have been conducting over the past several years for DoD. The results included the development of a cost assessment approach that has been adopted by DoD and accepted by the Government Accountability Office. Eric and his team are continuing to carryout detailed studies of the costs of corrosion for the military services. Those studies are providing a comprehensive portrait of corrosion costs and a basis for targeted actions to eliminate or reduce such costs for weapon systems and infrastructure. Eric's chapter is featured in the book’s marketing material.
