Dr. Rachael Jonassen Recognized for Contributing to Climate Change Awareness
McLean, VA., March 16, 2009—Dr. Rachael Jonassen, a member of our Energy and Environment Group, recently received a Certificate of Recognition and Appreciation from the Inter-Agency Forum on Climate Change Impacts and Adaptations.
Rachael was recognized for her significant contributions in making federal agencies aware of their climate change challenges. Those contributions included serving as the lead author on a book that LMI just published: A Federal Leader’s Guide to Climate Change; making presentations on climate change at Forum meetings; and participating on a climate change panel at the 2008 Cooperative Ecosystems Studies Units conference. Rachael has a BA in sociology from Dickinson College, and an MS and Ph.D., both in geology, from Penn State University.
The Inter-Agency Forum on Climate Change Impacts and Adaptations has members from numerous federal agencies. Its goal is to provide a forum for the sharing of data, approaches, scenarios, and expertise relative to forecasting and responding to climate change impacts.
