Mel Huryasar is Guest Speaker at Quantico Chapter Meeting of the International Society of Logistics

McLean, VA., March 25, 2009—Meltem Huryasar, a member of our Supply Chain Management group, was the guest speaker at a Quantico chapter meeting of SOLE, the International Society of Logistics. Mel is one of the software developers for our Aircraft Sustainability Model (ASM), an analytical model that assists logisticians with spares procurement decisions and budget development. Since joining LMI in 2005, she has helped the Joint Strike Fighter Program Office and Pratt and Whitney use the ASM for developing spares forecasts for their multi-year spares budgets. She has also supported such clients as the U.S. Air Force, NASA, and NATO with readiness based sparing analyses. Mel has a BS in mathematics and an MS in operations research both from North Carolina State University, and was the 2008 recipient of SOLE's Young Logistician Award in recognition of her contributions to readiness based sparing in the aerospace and defense communities.
