Expanding in Homeland Security

LMI secured another prime award from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), this time with its Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Office. LMI’s responsibilities to the office’s Operations Support Directorate include chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) subject matter expertise; program administration; interagency training exercises; medical operations; and information coordination services. The contract, which has a ceiling value of more than $70 million over five years, expands LMI’s versatile DHS footprint following prime contracts with the DHS Science and Technology Directorate’s Office of National Laboratories in 2019 and U.S. Border Patrol in 2018.

Multifaceted Support to OSD

LMI’s wide-ranging support to its founding customer, the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), served varied mission challenges in 2020. Notably, supply chain experts, defense industrial base analysts, and strategic communicators worked closely with the COVID-19 Joint Acquisition Task Force. Among other efforts, LMI expanded support to acquisition and sustainment officials through a five-year, $70 million OASIS task order and will furnish expertise in functional domains along with assistance to policy and process reforms and business operations. The latter effort is part of a $50 million contract to consolidate enterprise logistics for OSD stakeholders. Additional opportunities support OSD’s energy resilience and security cooperation programs.

Enabling Transformation at GSA

The combined tools and expertise of LMI’s newly formed digital and analytic solutions unit will support modernization efforts at the General Services Administration’s Public Buildings Service (PBS). Leveraging open source and cloud technologies, LMI will develop an online portal to serve as the one-stop shop for applications that GSA employees nationwide use to manage, lease, and maintain buildings for tenant agencies. In addition, LMI has partnered with Carnegie Mellon University to support a new client within the GSA PBS Office of Facilities Management, providing project management for the implementation of smart-building technologies that will deliver significant energy and water savings.
