Eligibility
The program seeks recent graduate students with exceptional technical and research skills combined with strong leadership potential. We look for broad educational and professional experience that indicates strong, flexible intellectual capability. Graduate students from disciplines such as business, public administration, data science, engineering, and health policy are also strongly encouraged to apply.
Professional Development
In addition to the standard employee benefits package, fellows receive professional development training to augment their work experience. LMI staff members and outside experts supply this training—a mix of project management, professional skills, leadership, and technical instruction—the focus of which depends on the needs of LMI and the interests of each fellow.
Mentoring
Each fellow teams with a senior LMI professional who acts as a mentor. Mentors help the fellows prepare professional development and training plans and identify projects. The mentors are also available to tutor on consulting skills and to offer insight and advice on working with the federal government and public sector.
