Join LMI at the Model Based Enterprise (MBE) Summit hosted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology on April 1-4, 2019 in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
The MBE Summit will examine challenges, research, implementation issues, and lessons learned in design, manufacturing, quality assurance, and sustainment of products and processes where a digital 3D model of the product serves as the authoritative information source for all activities in a product's lifecycle.
The 2019 theme is Democratizing the Implementation of MBE. The model-based community has moved beyond the question of "Why is MBE important?" to "How do we deploy MBE?" Sessions will focus on highlighting tips and techniques to enable real-world MBE implementation. Speakers from academia, government, and industry will present in the following tracks: 1) Systems Engineering and Lifecycle Management; 2) Design; 3) Manufacturing; 4) Quality and Inspection; and 5) Operations, Logistics, and Sustainment.
LMI's Bruce Kaplan is coordinating the Operations, Logistics, and Sustainment track while logistics engineering senior consultant and NIST guest researcher Ben Kassel will deliver two presentations, “Model Based Enterprise R&D at the Defense Logistics Agency" and “The Return of the Domain Specific Product Data Definition.”
Registration is free, but required. Registration closes March 25, 2019.
“Innovation in government is best when it marries two thrusts simultaneously: long-standing challenges and opportunities presented by new technologies and methods. Technology for technology’s sake is usually a costly mistake.”
Bruce Kaplan, Fellow, Logistics Strategy and Integration
