LMI Awarded Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ RMADA 2 IDIQ Contract

September 25, 2019

Tysons, VA — LMI has been awarded a prime position on the Research, Measurement, Assessment, Design, and Analysis (RMADA) 2 indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). RMADA 2 is a five-year, multiple-award contract vehicle with a ceiling amount of $5 billion.

LMI is among 17 prime contractors that will support models and demonstration programs developed by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). Established under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), CMMI reduces program expenditures by creating innovative payment and service delivery models that enhance health care quality. The contract tasks will support patient-centered practices for Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and uninsured beneficiaries.

“LMI has a history of success in implementing CMMI models and evaluating ACA payment reform that improve care, lower costs, and better align payment systems to drive value-based care,” said Pat Tamburrino Jr., vice president of LMI’s health and civilian markets. “We look forward to continuing our support to CMS as it innovates to improve the quality of health care for U.S. citizens.”

CMS aims to strengthen and modernize the nation’s health care system by putting patient needs first while creating flexibility at the state and local levels and providing low-cost access to quality care. Through RMADA 2, LMI has an opportunity to support the contract vehicle scope by bidding on task orders in the areas of model design, implementation, evaluation, and operations; conduct program, data, and environmental analyses; assist with application development and review; monitor model site implementations; design and conduct surveys; report and summarize analyses; and report annual and final program findings. Through effective stakeholder engagement and training, LMI’s staff has the knowledge to provide data analysis and integration support, obtain and analyze data sources, and assist in developing program-specific technical resource guides.

“We are eager to continue building upon our nearly 25 years of domain experience at CMS, and RMADA 2 presents a tremendous opportunity for LMI,” said Whitney Owen, director of LMI’s HHS market. “This important vehicle strengthens our ability to support the CMS mission to improve patient outcomes.”
