Tysons, VA — Military Times has named LMI among its 2019 Best for Vets: Employers ranking for the tenth consecutive year as a top employer for military veterans. LMI ranks among other leading nonprofit, government, and for-profit organizations whose benefits, policies, and cultures support veterans and their families.
LMI responded to a survey of over 90 questions related to the organization’s focus on company culture, veteran recruitment, and military policies. The survey also gathered data related to policies accommodating military families, particularly spouses.
“At LMI, we strive to cultivate a supportive culture for transitioning military, guard members, reservists, and their families, and we are proud to be a Best for Vets employer for the tenth consecutive year,” said Dave Zolet, President and CEO of LMI. “As we continue our rapid growth, we are constantly implementing innovative and proactive improvements to our culture and benefits for all employees, including military veterans.”
At the time of the survey, veterans, National Guard members, and reservists accounted for 29 percent of the LMI employee population; in LMI’s 2018 Annual Report, the firm reported that this percentage had increased to 34 percent. The company offers generous benefits and training programs as well as resources dedicated to military recruitment and veteran hiring efforts.
Military Times has been compiling these objective and independent rankings since 2010. This year, Military Times evaluated nearly 200 organizations that responded to the survey, making this year’s rankings more competitive than ever.
“The companies on the Military Times Best for Vets list earned their rankings through determined efforts to recruit and support service members, veterans, and military families,” said George Altman, a Military Times editor in charge of the rankings. “These efforts deserve recognition from the country and should get the attention of veterans looking for a new career.”
