Tysons, Va. – The National Property Management Association (NPMA), the foremost membership organization for personal property and fixed-asset professionals, has named LMI’s Steven Holland and Alex Barenblitt to respective leadership roles.

As NPMA’s first national director of legislative affairs, Holland will advise the executive board on legislative, statutory, regulatory, and policy-related activities that affect the management of government personal property within federal agencies and the private sector, including contractors, as well as medical and academic environments. Barenblitt was elected chair of NPMA’s Council of Fellows, its most distinguished body of practitioners. A former NPMA chapter president, Barenblitt joined the council as a consulting fellow in 2014, one year after Holland, who has been an NPMA member for 32 years.

NPMA-certified professional property managers, Holland and Barenblitt account for more than 60 years of experience addressing government personal property management challenges. Government personal property encompasses equipment spanning mobile devices to motor vehicles, internal use software, operating materials and supplies, test equipment, and other assets, as well as inventories like parts of the Strategic National Stockpile.

“You will not find more passionate and innovative problem solvers in the arena of government property management than Steve and Alex. They are outstanding consultants to LMI’s customers and generous thought leaders eager to collaborate and advance best practices,” said Stu Jones, director of LMI’s supply chain management practice. “On behalf of LMI, it is a pleasure to congratulate them on their new responsibilities with NPMA.”

Holland and Barenblitt contribute frequently to the property management profession through NPMA presentations and publications. They partnered with LMI colleagues Susan Morrill and Sabrina Nguyen to write the cover story for the August 2020 edition of NPMA’s magazine, The Property Professional, examining strategic asset management and the benefits of the ISO 55000 international standard and certification. Holland, Barenblitt, and Morrill co-authored another article, “Federal Facilities Warehouses and Government Property Storage: Everything is Connected!” that received top honors at the 2020 NPMA Conference Proceedings in July and will appear in a forthcoming issue of The Property Professional.

Holland Headlines NPMA Publication

The first part of Steven Holland's article, Federal Fleet Vehicles: Managing An Optimal Fleet Profile When They're Always On The Move, is the cover story for the December 2020 issue of The Property Professional.

This article in its entirety offers insight on the problem of managing an optimal fleet profile and provides thought leadership for fleet management professionals to support their agency’s enterprise strategy and strategic asset management plan.
