Tysons, Va.—LMI announced today it will provide a broad spectrum of data management and analytic services for the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC) with the goal of accelerating artificial intelligence (AI) scaling across the department. Through this Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA), LMI will help the DoD overcome the complex technical challenges involved in preparing data needed for AI applications. This will include partnering with the JAIC to work closely with the services, combatant commands, and other components, to identify appropriate use cases for AI across DoD, develop capabilities, and scale impact.

— Kristen Cheman, LMI vice president of digital & analytical solutions

“LMI is well equipped and ready to help the DoD JAIC deliver efficient data-readiness through our partnerships within the AI software industry, our academic partnerships within the LMI Research Institute, and our staff of over 500 data engineers, data scientists, and developers,” said Kristen Cheman, LMI vice president of digital & analytical solutions. “We have been leaning forward in data readiness – especially in areas such as enterprise data management and synthetic data generation – and are thrilled for the opportunity to help the DoD meet their goals of AI maturation, adoption, and sustainment.”

LMI’s support of the JAIC Data Readiness Artificial Intelligence Development Program (DRIAD) BOA will pull heavily from LMI’s extensive experience with data activities such as data engineering, data integration, data collection and curation, database design and development, data science, and project and outreach program management.
