Our success is fueled by the diverse perspectives, values, and work and life experiences of our LMIers. Cultivating an inclusive environment where thoughts and ideas are heard, valued, and supported is essential to LMI’s continued success for years to come.

Becoming Part of the Change

Tragic events directly affecting minority communities across the country prompted several companies to reevaluate their diversity and inclusion strategy. With a new CEO leading LMI, employees were looking for a renewed commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. “Deliberately fostering diversity affords an organization more effective innovation and better decision-making to improve mission delivery for customers and stakeholders,” senior consultant Jim Woodard wrote in his blog.

To address the need for further engagement on this topic, LMI’s senior leadership quickly communicated their devotion to establishing programs, tools, and techniques to ensure equal access and success for all LMIers. “We want a culture that celebrates uniqueness, advances diversity, enables authenticity, and creates a sense of belonging,” said Karen Britton, vice president of marketing & communications and chief digital officer.

Empowering Our Employees

LMI’s accomplishments are the result of our people’s strengths. Listening to their voices and valuing their expertise is essential to our ongoing success.

LMI’s director of academic programs, Linda Bixby, PhD, works alongside members of LMI’s Research Institute to formulate, refine, and implement our academic strategy. To grow our partnerships, she evaluates a university’s expertise, diversity, excellent reputations, extensive research capabilities in science and technology, and proximity to our government clients. “We are always looking to team with universities that resonate well with our government clients,” Linda noted in her employee spotlight interview.

LMIers bring an unmatched expertise in their respective fields. Dustin Showe, a project leader supporting two of LMI’s larger U.S. Army contracts at Fort Detrick, has over 20 years of experience in areas from biodefense program management to bioinformatics. “I’ve been impressed with LMI’s industry-leading subject matter expertise across domains,” he mentioned in his employee spotlight interview.
