Tysons, Va. – LMI today announced it will provide analytical, technical, and program management support to the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Energy (ODASD(E)). The multimillion-dollar contract has a five-year performance period.

LMI will provide in-depth knowledge and technical expertise in the areas of installation energy resilience, operational energy resilience, energy efficiency, alternative energy, utilities, energy risk management, and facility-related control systems cybersecurity. LMI has partnered with IBM and The Rehancement Group (TRG) to support ODASD(E). These organizations will collaborate with staff members from the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), combatant commands, Joint Staff, military services, defense agencies, and other federal agencies. LMI specialists will provide strategic planning, analysis, programming, and functional energy expertise. In addition, LMI will apply a rigorous analytical capability and approach that will help ODASD(E) identify objectives; assess current capabilities, areas of performance, and standards; and develop options for closing gaps in all programs falling under the office’s purview.

Although LMI has performed analysis and studies in support of this office previously, this award represents the organization’s first contract with ODASD(E) since the operational energy and installation energy offices and roles were combined during a reorganization of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics. LMI brings a strong combination of legacy office and functional knowledge, coupled with new perspectives that will help ODASD(E) assume the ever-increasing responsibilities and opportunities in the Department of Defense energy domain.

The award of this contract continues to provide opportunities to leverage LMI’s expertise and presence across the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment enterprise and to deliver exceptional support for framing energy policy and guidance. This effort directly correlates to issues effecting readiness at the installation and operation levels, which is a space where LMI has expansive experience providing clients with effective and innovative solutions.
