Go beyond compliance to manage risk and boost productivity
LMI helps federal agencies tailor OSH programs to unique missions, workforce requirements, and business processes.
Complying with federal and state occupational and safety health (OSH) regulations is only the first step toward improving employee health and productivity. LMI helps federal agencies tailor OSH programs to unique missions, workforce requirements, and business processes. We identify and prioritize areas for improvement and implement practical solutions that strengthen compliance, risk management, and employee wellbeing.
Our Expertise
LMI’s OSH program managers and technical consultants have decades of experience providing corporate- and facility-level support, encompassing:
- Safety Management Systems & Digital Applications
We develop Safety Management Systems (SMS) structures, policies, procedures, metrics, and IT applications based on best practices. Our integrated team of OSH subject matter experts and software engineers have designed, developed and maintained online and mobile SMS applications for more than 15 years.
Meaningful Results
Reducing Loss at USPS
LMI has supported the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) safety program for two decades, helping reduce productivity losses caused by illness and injury and improving Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance. Our support encompasses program development assistance, web and mobile safety management system applications, policy and document development expertise, hazard identification and evaluation, contingency planning, and OSH technical support.
A Five-Year Plan for FAA’s Aviation Safety Organization
LMI performed a comprehensive OSH program evaluation and gap assessment for the Federal Aviation Administration’s Aviation Safety (AVS) organization. Subsequently, we helped AVS develop a five-year implementation plan with detailed schedules, budget, and personnel requirements. We also developed an OSH program document that is accessible from their employee intranet and provides links to key regulations, policies, and technical resources.
Ensuring Employee Safety During GSA Renovations
LMI helped develop a health risk assessment and management plans for polychlorinated biphenyls encountered during a major General Services Administration (GSA) office building renovation. LMI’s assistance helped satisfy health concerns and regulatory requirements, enabling the renovation to continue. LMI also provided revised radon assessment and management policies and a study protocol to characterize radon health risks across the GSA building inventory.

Lifecycle Management & Modernization
LMI’s logistics management and modernization methods have improved customer outcomes for over 60 years by optimizing lifecycle system performance, affordability, and sustainment.
